The Real Shawn Behind ShawnCo🐶

I wanted to take a moment today to share the story behind our brand’s name because it’s something close to my heart. 

We often get asked if ShawnCo was named after me, but the truth is, my middle name isn’t Shawn, and the story is much deeper than that.

When we were starting this brand, there were countless names we could have chosen, but in my heart, I always knew what our company would be called.

You see, Shawn wasn’t just my first dog—he was the dog that many people talk about when they say, “the dog that changed my life.” 

From the moment I adopted him, Shawn became my shadow, my confidant, and my best friend.

 For all 16.5 years of his life, he never left my side, showing an unwavering amount of loyalty, love, and companionship that I can never fully put into words.

Shawn taught me what it truly means to love a dog and how much they can impact our lives in ways we never expect. 

His loyalty wasn’t just a quality—it was a promise he kept every single day. No matter how tough life got, Shawn was always there, making everything just a little bit better.

When we set out to create this brand, I knew it was the least I could do to honor the love and loyalty Shawn gave me. 

His name had to live on, not just in my memories, but in something that could touch the lives of others and their dogs.

Shawn passed away in March 2024, and while it was one of the hardest moments of my life, I find comfort in knowing that his legacy continues.

 Every time a dog wears ShawnCo gear, a piece of Shawn’s spirit is there, honoring the bond we had and celebrating the love that dogs bring to our lives.

To me, it doesn’t get more special than that. Shawn may no longer be by my side, but his name lives on, touching the lives of dogs and their humans around the world.
